The Story: When director Mike Cowley was approached by Big Smoke Brass Band to shoot a live performance, he reached out to me to capture the behind-the-scenes of the production. The concept was to throw a ‘faux house party’ where the band would be performing their song LIZZO, with each instrument and member scattered throughout the home. I captured each of the practice runs and live performances, focusing heavily on filling every frame to reflect the closeness of not just the band, but the space they were performing. Ultimately my photos were used to promote the video before it’s release across social media.
