About Me

Born and raised just outside Toronto, I have had a deep curiosity and appreciation for the visual arts for as long as I can remember. Being the son of a long-tenured editorial cartoonist I spent much of my childhood peering over my father’s shoulder as he penned his illustrations, offering his perspective through a visual medium on topics being discussed around the world. His devotion to not just his craft, but objectivity in his views, is what would push me to pursue a journalism education at Carleton University.

During my 4 years at Carleton I focused primarily on honing my talents in photojournalism and broadcast television, being taught and encouraged by working journalists every step of the way. In the final year of my program I earned the position of Photo Editor while working for Centretown News, a local print and digital publication managed through Carleton that reached nearly 10,000 homes biweekly. I had multiple photos published in each issue while on the staff, including several front page photos, and was tasked with reviewing and editing all other submitted photos from colleagues.

I graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor of Journalism, paired with a Minor of Film Studies, and was confident in my abilities as a photographer and storyteller. After a few months of working on some short-term social media start ups for individuals and businesses, I was given the opportunity to work full time at a Digital Marketing firm in the position of Community Manager. While photography was part of the job description it was not at the forefront of my responsibilities, so slowly but surely my passion became my hobby.

After 3 and a half years, two of which were during a global pandemic, I decided it was time to forge my own path. Do something I wanted to do. Something that brings me joy. Something that brings me purpose. Something I am passionate about.

So here I am! Camera in hand, eyes wide, and mind open.
Searching for beauty to photograph, a story to tell, and emotion to capture.
